"Evening Spectrum" by Anatoliy Kryvolap is a work where color shapes space. The horizon fades into warm light, evoking stillness and a concentrated sense of calm.
"Evening Spectrum" by Anatoliy Kryvolap is the result of years of work with landscape as a medium of reduction. Throughout his career, the artist gradually moved from impressionistic studies to near-abstract compositions, where form is stripped to its essentials and the focus shifts to internal structure and rhythm.
In this piece, Kryvolap removes any narrative cues — leaving a single horizon line, dissolving into soft gradations. Nature is not depicted as an object, but rather becomes a visual environment that fills the viewer’s field of perception.
The central concept is to present landscape as meditation — a visual equivalent of time and stillness. The subtle transitions — from purple to ochre, from ochre to blue — create a cadence that holds the surface together as a unified whole.
This method marks what the artist describes as his "third phase": a transition from realism to emotional synthesis, where the storyline disappears and only the pure perception of duration and presence remains.
